THEORY: Cure Wounds effects living beings to heal them. It has no effect on undead or constructs. If I injure Zeph and then use Cure Wounds, its effectiveness MAY hint at whether or not he is considered Undead. Unfortunately, if it fails, it may be because he is considered a construct rather than undead. I will update when I have more information on this experiment.
UPDATE: Zephyros does not like to be called "Zeph," and he did not agree to my experiment.
It seems Alexis has night vision. Interesting. Maybe not human?
Alexis knows deep speech. Deeply concerning.
Alexis is a dark elf. Whoops.
He was able to communicate with, and 'befriend,' a gathering of undead hunters. Interesting. These undead hunters go out every night and kill everything that moves, so perhaps it would be worthwhile to come back someday and put an end to it.
In Everlund, I met a powerful Seer by the name of Krowen. The party assisted him in taking down an amalgamate beast and he rewarded me with a piece of his seeing glass fastened into an artifact. Krowen also gifted us with a winged cat. We have named him Riezar.
Zephyros's control over his body seems to be improving. He has shown the ability to make use of his high-tech sensors and scanners- though, he did so by noticing when I was... Emotionally compromised(?) around Krowen. I sincerely hope he does not realize what exactly I felt, as such knowledge may jeopardize the integrity of the experiment.
On the subject of Zephyros… My mind continues to wander to explanations as to his current state. He seems to be in possession of some sort of immortality, for lack of a better word. At the very least, he seems unable to die of old age, though I suspect he is still susceptible to death from injury or attack. I have a few theories as to how this may be, but it is difficult to pinpoint an exact answer.
He is a powerful wizard consisting of only a skull. The obvious answer is that he is a lich. Liches are typically evil, of course, but there are some varieties that maintain a disposition towards good, such as an archlich.
I’ve read that some beings can attain an immunity to death by old age when granted a boon by a divine entity. Perhaps his research was favored by a deity, and he was blessed with a boon of immortality in order to continue his research?
A bit more far fetched, but as a high level wizard, it is possible he has cast a spell on himself to attain his longevity. One such possibility could be the "Magic Jar" spell? He may simply be possessing his own skull, which in turn possesses whatever 'container' it is in.
