Facts of Interest:
The Fae Blood substance was a hindrance to Zephyros, and without it, he is functioning in a much improved mental capacity.
Zephyros is, at minimum, thousands of years old.
Nemyth still refuses to explain what happened with the fires in his tavern.
Giants are searching for the piece of adamantine in Triboar.
Zephyros took to the mechanical body shockingly quickly. It was merely a prototype and very unfinished, but an emergency involving a dragon left me no choice but to attempt a transfer prematurely.
After placing the seemingly lifeless skull inside the glass chamber, the garnet seemed to struggle to connect for a few moments, but eventually the body "came to life," so to speak. I have already found a few sections that need improvement, such as the joints and arm sockets, and while I am sure any mechanical damage will easily be repaired, I fear damage to the skull inside. It may be in my best interest to replace the current pedestal system with a gel-based suspension, perhaps? I need to minimize shock to the skull in any way possible to ward off irreversible damage.
Surprisingly, the body seems to function fine without any replica organs. I was worried the skull would not function properly without proper connections to organs with which it would function, yet the magic from the gem (and, presumably, the skull) seems to keep it "alive" and well.
I can't help but wonder if this school of magic would fall under necromancy. Is Zephyros alive? Can a skull separated from its body be considered alive in any form?
I digress. The experiment was vastly successful. My next task is to make improvements to the body for Zephyros's quality of life and performance. Afterwards, I can take what I've learned, and craft a new body to hold a new life. I'm close. I can tell.
